Environmental Portraits - RBTV

I wanted to take this opportunity to share some different work on the blog- no couples kissing this time! For the past year I've been doing a bunch of commercial work for the non-profit Ron Burton Training Village, a rigorous summer camp for athletes in disadvantaged economic situations who would not have the opportunity otherwise. RBTV is a magical place in the boonies of western MA, with wide open spaces for the campers to do their daily 4:30am 7-mile run, as well as gardens with benches for spiritual meditation. The campers and owners are an absolute pleasure to work with, and I'm so fortunate to be given the chance to photograph for them in a variety of capacities from fund raisers, to galas, and in this case head shots.

Every year RBTV makes a yearbook showing off the accomplishments of the campers- how well they did in class, academic and sports scholarships they received, and what the veteran campers are up to at university. I visited a few of their schools, and walked around campus with them, shooting group shots and environmental portraits in order to create visual content for the publication. We had a lot of fun, and after the shoot the boys reached out to me to use some of the images for college applications, job interviews, and professional online profiles. I look forward to seeing what more these bright, motivated guys will accomplish down the road!
