Pine Hills Pavilion Plymouth Wedding - Tara & Seth
Tara and Seth got married on the perfect sunny summer day at the PINE HILLS PAVILION in Plymouth, MA. They are both such sweet people, and it was such a pleasure working with them and their giant extended families and groups of friends!
They are both high school teachers, and they met working at the same school! Tara teaches history and Seth teaches math. If their relationship can withstand living AND working together without being at each other's throats, you know there's something special between them. Also, I wish I could have been their students- because they are so cool!
Seth loves golf, so getting married at Pine Hills made perfect sense. Somehow though, only several feet from the green we found portrait spots that made it look like we were deep in the woods, or walking through the middle of a field. Also, the harsh light made for some really cool high-contrast moody portraits. The whole time I was editing them, I kept making black and white versions and was REALLY falling in love with them.
So call me crazy, but I made this entire blog post black and white. I've never done it before, but I'm SO pumped about how it turned out! If you follow my work, you know I'm absolutely obsessed with the timeless beauty of black and white images. I learned photography in a dark room way back when- processing my own black and white film. It's such a magical feeling seeing an image slowly emerge before your eyes in the development bath. It's rare that I get that same feeling of surprise while editing digital files on a screen, but honestly Tara & Seth's wedding may been the closest I've gotten. I was so excited about it, that I didn't realize how long I had been sitting at my computer- I looked at the clock and it was already 1am! I guess it's just a reminder that I love what I do.
